The Fort Worth Scale Modelers are a chapter of IPMS/USA.
We meet the third Monday of each month (except September) at the First Baptist Church of Benbrook in Southwest Fort Worth, Texas. Meetings are held in the fellowship room in the southwest corner of the church's complex. The meetings begin with a social period starting at 6:30 PM. The formal meeting starts at 7:00 PM and lasts until about 8:30 PM. Dues are $2.00 per month, with first time guests and children admitted free.
Meetings are very informal and begin with any club business needing to be addressed. Attendees are invited to participate in a friendly club model contest at each meeting so bring what you've built or are working on! The "Best of Show" model for the night gets his/her choice of door prizes. Other prizes are drawn from those in attendance. The program follows the contest judging. Programs typically consist of informative "How-To"s from the club members and slide presentations from around the world so come out and join us!!

Hello All,
On behalf of our President, Glenn Whitmire and Vice-President, Bryan Tucker, we would like to invite you to the May meeting of
the Fort Worth Scale Modelers. The meeting will convene at 6:30 pm, Monday, May 21st at the First Baptist Church of Benbrook,
1015 McKinley Street, Benbrook, TX 76126. We will have a social period until around 7:00 pm when the meeting will start.
Our agenda is:
1) BUSINESS MEETING
2) MODEL CONTEST
2) PROGRAM: "Armored Cavalry: 1980 - Present" - George Salerno
It is a far cry from the horse cavalry of the 19th century to their evolution into the mobile cavalry units of today. Spawned in the Vietnam war, the modern armored cavalry is characterized by wide response range, quick response time, heavy firepower and all-terrain mobility. They use tanks, helos, APCs, and other light attack vehicles to achieve this lethal striking power.
George Salerno has extensive military experience with Armored Cavalry and he will give us an historical perspective of this quick strike capability that JEB Stuart would find astonishing.
Invite a friend. Bring a model. We Look Forward to Seeing You (and your latest creations).
Paul Metz
Program Coordinator
